Services

We provide many services in support of research, education, and assessment technology related to neurodevelopmental research methods. We work with users to determine the most scientifically rigorous and cost-effective plans to accomplish their research goals. We can train your research assistants, students or postdocs to run the studies or our team of core staff can collect, code and score the data for you. We have family-friendly space with identical capabilities in both downtown Chicago and downtown Evanston. Rates are subject to change without notice. These prices are for individuals associated with the following institutions: Northwestern University (NU), Northwestern Medicine (NM), Ann and Robert H. Lurie Childrens Hospital of Chicago (LCH), and the Chicago Biomedical Consortium (CBC) (UChicago and UIC.) Please contact us to inquire about external rates.

Service Description Pricing (NU, LCH)

Expert Consultation and Expert Service Provision

Consultation with our PhD-level experts in research design and measurement selection, helping you apply suitable assessment methods to meet your needs. Our services include training in coding, scoring, analysis, and interpreting study data. IRB consultation and support is also available.

Experts' time that falls under this service are Dr. Elizabeth Norton, Dr. Brittany Manning, Dr. Erica Anderson, and Marianne Brennan, MA.

Research Assistant Support

This service is for hourly research assistant support for activities including EEG, eye tracking, and assessment data collection.

Under this service, the Core coordinator can collect data and generate behavioral scores based on data collection.

$47/hour

Project Coordinator Support

This service is for a project coordinator to provide hourly logistical support for Core services such as IRB preparation, participant recruitment, scheduling, and engagement. The coordinator may also serve as a liason between research teams. Supervising staff or acting as a master coder falls under this service.

$65/hour

MRI Data Collection Services

This service offers research assistant support specifically for pediatric MRI data collection, including the utilization of the MedVac infant immobilizer (papoose). Our staff can provide mock scanner training and assist with the placement and monitoring of children during scans. Please note that all scan costs and MRI technicians must be booked through CTI and are not included in this service.

$65/hour

Assessment Task Per License

This service includes task licensing, participant forms, and provision of raw data files and/or scores standard for the assessment. Rates do not include data collection, code, or analytics.

A/V Recording Equipment

Use and maintenance of equipment necessary for recording assessments. Assessment supplies and data collection are not included in this fee. This service should be booked for setup (when the research teams arrives) and cleanup time. 

$10/hour

EEG Equipment

Use of BioSemi EEG hardware, caps, and electrodes. Costs cover: equipment use and maintenance, consumable supplies (up to 2 monoject syringes), and presentation software licenses. Please note that equipment setup, data collection, and cleanup must be conducted by a trained individual. Time must be booked for setup (when the research team arrives) and cleanup time. Investigators are responsible for cleanup and any damage to equipment.

$20/hour

EEG Hardware

Access to BioSemi EEG hardware, presentation software licenses, as well as consumable supplies (up to 2 monoject syringes) when caps and electrodes are supplied by the investigator. Time must be booked for setup (when the research team arrives) and cleanup. Investigators are responsible for cleanup and for any damage to equipment.

$5/hour

Eye Tracking Equipment

Equipment use and maintenance, supplies and licenses. Data collection must be conducted by a trained individual.

$15/hour

Biospecimen Use

This service covers per participant/visit use of the Core's biospecimen facility at 625 N. Michigan. Users must provide all required materials for specimen collection and storage and follow health/safety procedures for preparing and cleaning the facility. This service covers required materials for cleaning and sanitizing the space between participants, which is completed by each user.
